Twist-style bangle with an 'Ik Onkar' motif on one side and 'Khanda' motif on the other. Ik Onkar and the Khanda together are the cornerstones of the essence of Sikhism- the belief in One God, sovereign power, divine justice, and freedom and authority guided by spiritual values. The Khanda is a Sikhism symbol representative of the Sikh's martial history . It is also part of the design of the "Sikh national flag", the Nishan Sahib. A double edged sword (also called Khanda) is placed at the top of a Nishan Sahib flag as an ornament or finial. It is one of most important symbols of Sikhism. This is emphasized by the fact that many Sikh flags, including the Nishan Sahib, have the Khanda on them. It is a collection of four weapons commonly used by Sikhs at the time of Guru Gobind Singh. Ik Onkar, ੴ also spelled Ek Onkar is a phrase in Sikhism that denotes the one supreme reality. Ik Onkar are the first words of the Mul Mantar and also the opening words of the Sikh holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib. We hope this bangle reminds you to remain rooted in these ideals of oneness, truth, and love.
